Sr. Master Joel Neely, 7th Degree Black Belt, and Master Clare Neely, 6th Degree Black Belt are the owners and chief instructors of Joel Neely's Taekwondo Plus in Baton Rouge, LA.
Sr. Master Neely attended high school in Mandeville, LA where he earned honors in athletics and academics. He was captain of the varsity basketball team and graduated at the top of his class n 1964. Sr. Master Neely attended Louisiana State University where he played basketball on the LSU freshman basketball team. He graduated from LSU in 1970.
Sr. Master Neely began training in taekwondo in 1981 under Master Don Swift in Gulfport, MS. Sr. Master Neely opened his first Taekwondo Plus training center in Baton Rouge, LA in May of 1985. He has trained thousands of students including police officers, security guards, women's groups as well as the general public. He also teaches taekwondo classes to the LSU football team.
Sr. Master Neely is a 7th Degree ITA Black Belt, 2nd Degre Black Belt in Weeping Style Jujutsu, Certified Taekwondo Intructor, Certified Han Mu Do Instructor, Certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, Certified Korean Sword Masters Instructor, and Certified Criminal Countermeasures Instructor.

The ITA mission is to empower member Instructors and students to enrich their personal,
artistic, and professional lives through traditional TaeKwonDo training.
While training authentic and highly skilled TaeKwonDo artists, ITA believes the
highest purpose of TaeKwonDo education is to prepare students for the responsibilities
of citizenship. TaeKwonDo is about real and powerful experiences, resulting in the
discovery of innate capabilities and a heightened sense of responsibility. To that
end, we encourage our students to use their Martial Arts knowledge to improve our
communities through one act of leadership, public service, and mentoring at a time.
